Reba McEntire was presented "The Family Award on July 3, 2004 at The Stadium of Fire, by David, Doug and Scott Osmond of The Osmonds Second Generation who serve as Youth Chairmen for One Heart and TheFamily.com The award said: "Presented to Reba McEntire . . .for your positive example and in standing up for good family values and entertainment." Reba and the Osmonds had a nice visit just before the show. She loved the "spirit" of the people in Utah.
The Family Award was presented to the #1 Female recording artist Martina McBride and her husband John McBride, July 2003. Presented by Alan Osmond of The One Heart Foundation. The award is inscribed: "Presented to Martina and John Mcbride for living great examples and in putting your marriage and family first."
The Family Award was recently presented to recording artist Tim McGraw and his wife Faith Hill. The award was presented following a McGraw concert in Salt Lake City, May 1, 2003. Faith Hill was unavailable when the award was presented, but Tim said, "Faith is going to love this." Presented by the Osmonds 2nd Generation, the award is inscribed: "Presented to Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. With your many individual successes we recognize you both together in your devotion to marriage and family."
Alan Osmond presents The Family Award to Sean Hannity (right), star of the "Sean Hannity Show" and host on the FOX NEWS CHANNEL'S highly successful, "Hannity and Colmes." In addition to his "on-air" duties, Hannity is also author of the New York Times best seller, "Let Freedom Ring: Winning the War of Liberty Over Liberalism." The Family Award honoring the late Fred Rogers of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, was announced last year; however, Mr. Rogers passed away before accepting the Award. Thus, it was delivered to his widow. The Award is inscribed: "To Fred McFeely Rogers - In recognition of the many years you have blessed our families with your "Neighborhood." Fred Rogers, better known as television's "Mister Rogers," a cultural icon and kindly neighbor to generations of American children.
Ambassador George W. Haley, received the One Heart Family Award on behalf of his brother, Alex Haley, author of the acclaimed book "Roots." Ambassador Haley serves as U.S. Ambassador to Gambia, the native country of his ancestor Kunte Kinte. On September 27, 2005 (National Family Day), One Heart Foundation presented The Family Award to: Jim Harper of "Brigham Young University's School of Family Life . . . for Strengthening Families by following their charter, The Family: A Proclamation to the World, and in turning the hearts of young fathers and young mothers to their children." Presented on November 12, 2005, to: James Levoy Sorenson (received by: Ugo Perego,) for connecting families around the world using DNA and Genealogy.?
